Camp Warm Hearts Family Grief Day Camp
Saturday June 04, 2016 - Hospice of Helping Hands
Camp Warm Hearts will again be held as a free family day camp for families who have experienced the death of a loved one. The activities at Camp will include: educational workshops, memory crafts, family meals, outdoor summer activities, and a special memorial service to honor their loved one.
The power of healing from a death lies in the family unit. A child's most determining factor of how they will cope with loss is how their parent/guardian copes with loss. Therefore, offering a family camp helps teach parents/guardians coping skills of their own and helps prepare them to better meet their child's grief-related needs following Camp.
The camp will be conducted at Camp Timbers near Clear Lake, West Branch, Michigan and will begin at 8 a.m. and conclude at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 4.
Grieving families need extra support and encouragement from their families, friends, school personnel, and church families. If your family has, or you know of a family that has experienced the death of a loved one, please share this information with them.
The deadline to register a family for Camp Warm Hearts is Friday, May 13, 2016. Space is limited, so families are encouraged to register early by contacting Hospice of Helping Hands at 800-992-6592. We will walk you through the free registration process and get you ready for a rewarding and healing event. (Children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian to participate)
