Brown-Bag Lunch Seminars
Area residents are taking advantage of a new way to learn about various healthcare topics by attending a new series of free seminars hosted by West Branch Regional Medical Center. The seminars, entitled the brown bag lunch series, puts physicians in front of audiences to talk about specific health-related topics. The seminars are held at the medical center at lunchtime and are designed to accommodate even the busy professional’s schedule.

The following seminars have been scheduled:

Wednesday, April 9, noon to 1 p.m., Dr. Keven Schattner, general surgeon, will present "New Hope for Treatment of Varicose Veins." The seminar is free and open to the public. Wednesday, June 4, noon to 1 p.m., Mary Prudhomme, RN, CHPH, of Hospice of Helping Hands, will present "Alzheimers and Dementia." The seminar is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Sally Ann Sippl at (989) 343-1792.

Health and Wellness Screenings

Various health screenings are held at the medical center to help promote wellness. The following events have been scheduled:

CPR Training / First Aid

Certified Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) instructors are on staff at West Branch Regional Medical Center and classes for infant CPR and adult CPR are scheduled periodically. If you would like more information about the classes, including dates, times and locations, please call (989) 343-1792.

Child Passenger Safety (Toddler & Infant)

West Branch Regional Medical Center has a professional on staff with a certification in the proper installation of toddler and infant car seats. Parents of each newborn leaving the medical center are instructed as to the proper way to install their newborn’s car seat. If you would like to know if your child’s seat is properly installed, please call (989) 343-1792. Safety seat inspections are offered free of charge.
