

West Branch Regional Medical Center is a municipal health facility organized under the laws of the State of Michigan. Its purpose is to serve as a general medical center providing patient care and education.
The West Branch Regional Medical Center medical staff is responsible for the quality of medical care in the medical center and must accept and discharge this responsibility, subject to the ultimate authority of the medical center’s governing body. The cooperative efforts of the medical staff, the chief executive officer and the governing body are necessary to fulfill the medical center’s obligations to its patients.
It
is the medical staff’s purpose to:
1. Strive toward assuring that all patients admitted to or treated in any of the facilities, departments, or services of the medical center shall receive the best possible care;
2. Strive toward assuring a high level of professional performance
of all practitioners authorized to practice in the medical center through the
appropriate delineation of the clinical privileges each practitioner may exercise
in the medical center and through an ongoing review and evaluation of each practitioner’s
performance in the medical center;
3.
Provide an appropriate educational setting that will lead to continuous
advancement in professional knowledge and skill;
4. Initiate and maintain rules and regulations for self-government
of the medical staff.
